Good Samaritan Time

Today I got a call from a kind lady who needed to return her Uhaul truck. She had driven it from Ogden, Utah. This woman had my same first name and the same last name of my friend in Santa Barbara. We began talking I asked a couple questions let her know I was familiar with Ogden as I had grown up in a small town called Farmington just 25 minutes South of Ogden. She was surprised I pronounced her last name right and I asked her if she knew a gentleman by the name of Rich with her same last name in Santa Barbara. My customer then responded he was her cousin. My customer needed to coordinate return of her rental truck to my work and a ride to the airport to get a car. She asked if I would be willing to give her a ride. I was so anxious at the opportunity presented to me to be a Good Samaritan that I said yes I have a 6:00 obligation, but I'd be happy to coordinate transportation for her.

My 6:00 obligation was a run with a new running group. I had such a terrific time!

I then met my customer at work so she could return the rental truck and off we drove to the airport. I learned so many wonderful things about her.

I absolutely adore my new job. Some days are stressful and challenging, but I'm constantly learning and I value that so much.

I feel a tremendous amount of blessings have been pouring my way lately and although I was hesitant toward this transition it's created the most amazing change for me. My attitude, my health, my focus and happiness have improved an incredible amount in a very short time.

I will be moving and transitioning into the on-site living quarters at work and with that comes new surprises. Tomorrow evening I have a friend who is willing to come help me paint the one accent wall in the master bedroom. I will miss my little beach studio above the garage at my friend's house, but I'm also very excited about this new larger living space.

I think it has been said when we lose ourselves in serving others it is we who receive the greater reward and I'm truly watching that unfold daily.
